Bittersweet Haze (2026)
This piece explores the complex and bittersweet nature of nostalgia, and the sinking feelings of isolation it so often brings with it...but listen closely and you'll see the gentle glimmer of warmth and hope that shines through the gloom.

Bittersweet Haze was composed as the backbone of my immersive audiovisual work of the same name, produced in collaboration with Ikonix Australia as part of a coursework internship I undertook during my Bachelor of Design at QCAD, Griffith University.
The extended version was produced and remixed to serve as the original score for 3D animation "The Palace" by Daniel Della-Bosca. It debuted in the Brisbane Sir Thomas Planetarium in August 2026, as part of the 2026 Griffith CARI UN/BOUND Festival.
Composed and produced in Ableton Live 12 Suite. Featuring live recorded violin track performed by me.
This composition explores themes of life, death, memory, love, connection, and what it means to be human.
Reminiscence has also featured in my audiovisual works Deathbed Fever Dream (2025) and Reminiscence: A Short Film (2025).
Reminiscence (2021)

Following on from my highly positive experience creating Icicles in an introductory music technology elective, two years later I enrolled in the follow-up course, for which Reminiscence was my final assessment submission. Similarly to Icicles, the use of sampling features heavily in the texture - except this time, the samples are predominantly human voices. These samples I extracted from videos I had on my phone of my friends and family, giving the work a deeply intimate feel. From here the piece took the form of a memory montage - a fragmented “documentary” of someone’s life, reaching an emotionally wrought and tumultuous climax before fading into the unknown as the heartbeat of the piece trembles to a stop.

Icicles (2019)

The first digital music work I ever created, Icicles was my final assessment submission for an introductory music technology course that I undertook during my Bachelor of Music. The central foundation of the piece is a whispered recital of extracts from Frost at Midnight by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, which I recorded myself reading aloud in a whisper in the fire escape stairwell of the UQ music building. The breathy poetry underpins the entire piece, often inaudible yet ever-present. This is one of many non-musical samples that I personally collected and wove into the texture of Icicles; other examples include slamming doors, clattering doorhandles, metal railings, a wooden grate, and even a gunshot from a rifle.
